Calling All Kidmin

image Kidmin1124.com is officially 15 days old today.  The cake is ready and the balloons are all blown up.  The party hats are all lined up in cyberspace, and we’re having a party!  Well, not really, that would be silly at best and premature at the very least.  We really appreciate the positive response that we have gotten in the first fifteen days, and we are even more excited about the possibilities that we feel this site holds for being a blessing to the kidmin community.

For the vast majority of you, we hope that you have liked what you’ve seen so far and will continue to check in and join the conversation here on Kidmin1124.  However, for a select few, we hope that you can help  us out in a whole different way.  At Kidmin1124, we are a collection of children’s ministry volunteers and bi-vocational children’s ministers writing about issues and experiences from our perspective as they relate to children’s ministry.  We come from a variety of backgrounds, cover a a large age spectrum, serve in different positions in children’s ministry, and attend a variety of different types of churches.  There are however, two things we all share in common.

  1. We have a passion for God’s children, strive to teach and disciple them, and yearn for their salvation through Jesus Christ.
  2. We all struggle to manage our time and find enough hours in the day to get everything done that needs to get done.

This second item is why I appreciate the other volunteer and bi-vocational children’s ministers who have agreed to write for this blog.  They have, out of their eagerness to serve others, agreed to add one more thing to their burgeoning list of things to do when they agreed to write for this site.

That is why it has always been my intention to have a core group of 10-12 writers for this site.  That will allow us to have fresh content at all times without needing more than a couple of articles per month from each writer.  We actually have six writers signed up write now (even thought you’ve yet to hear from three of them who are particularly busy this summer).  That means, I have spots for 4-6 more people to contribute regularly to Kidmin1124.  If you are a in children’s ministry and work as a volunteer, work in a bi-vocational capacity, or work for multiple ministries, like writing and have a burden for sharing with and equipping others who work in children’s ministry, we would love to have you on board.

If you’re interested, and I really hope you are, please leave a comment below, and I will get back to you by e-mail.  If you are a full time children’s pastor and have a particularly gifted volunteer who you think would be great for Kidmin1124, we would love to hear about that too.

God bless you all!

  1. I volunteer as the CM at our church. I would like to contribute to this blog but not sure exactly what kind of contribution I could make. Could you give me an idea as to what you may be looking for?

  2. I’m interested as well, and would love to find out more. (part-time volunteer in children’s and youth ministry and part-time Bible college student, along with work and family responsibilities!) Thanks!

    • Lisa,

I sent you an e-mail. I hope you decide to contribute. I would love to have someone with your perspective (particularly that of a Bible College student) as part of the team. Our goal is to have a very diverse group of collaborators, and I definitely think you will add to that. Let me know what you think when you get the e-mail!

  3. Hey Wayne,

I’d love to be part of the team. Shoot me over some details!
